Description
Blue sapphires are now becoming increasingly rare. This is a relatively recent event as the world’s largest and highest quality mines are depleted or nearing depletion. Prices are escalating on large sapphires and are even more difficult to find. This exceptional 4.05 carat Ceylon blue sapphire is rare for its size, quality and faceting as it features a rare emerald scissor fancy cut.
The sapphire is certified by Gemological Institute of America (GIA), it measures 10.27 X 6.66 X 5.28 mm and displays a breath-taking vivid cornflower blue color. The scissor faceting produces electric flashes of bright blue brilliance. One of the photos provided greatly magnifies a light gray very difficult to see inclusion and other than this the stone is eye-clean. The inclusion is located near the table or top of the stone, is only visible upon very close inspection and at a side angle and is greatly masked by the stone’s color and brilliance. Once the sapphire was set this non-distracting inclusion was nearly undetectable.
The center prong set sapphire rests between beautifully designed channel set emerald and round brilliant cut diamonds. The diamonds are 0.70 carats total weight, SI1 clarity and G color.
The ring weighs 6.5 grams of 14K white gold and is a size 7 (please let us know your size request on the order form).
